Job Summary: As a Private Duty Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with Extended Hands, you will be responsible for providing direct care to our clients in the comfort of their homes. Your role will include assisting clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), monitoring their health, providing companionship, and promoting a safe and supportive home environment. This position requires empathy, strong communication skills, and a commitment to improving the quality of life for those you serve.
Key Responsibilities:
Personal Care: Assist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and other ADLs as needed.
Mobility Assistance: Help clients with transfers, ambulation, and exercises as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
Medication Assistance: Assist clients with medication reminders, as directed by the healthcare team.
Observation: Monitor clients' physical and emotional well-being, promptly reporting any changes or concerns to the nurse or supervisor.
Companionship: Provide emotional support, engage in conversation, and offer companionship to enhance the client's social well-being.
Meal Preparation: Prepare and serve meals in accordance with dietary restrictions and client preferences.
Housekeeping: Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment for the client.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of care provided and observations made.
Communication: Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team, including nurses and therapists, to ensure coordinated care.
Qualifications:
Current state certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
Compassion, empathy, and a strong desire to provide high-quality care.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a care team.
Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license (if required).
Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screenings as mandated by state regulations.
